Mr. Weitz is licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia and has been admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia, the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia, the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, the U. S. Circuit Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Weitz has successfully litigated both complex civil and criminal cases of a wide variety, including wrongful death, medical malpractice, trademark violations, business litigation and various white-collar criminal cases involving, inter alia, Federal antitrust, tax evasion, insurance and bank fraud. In addition to his trial skills and experience, Mr. Weitz's business background, experience, and judgment have placed him in high demand as a transaction counsel representing buyers, seller, lenders, and borrowers.
Mr. Weitz has earned an "AV" rating from Martindale Hubbell Law Directory. The "AV" rating is the highest available. He has been listed in the publication “The Best Lawyers in America”, and voted by his peers to be a 2008 Georgia “Super Lawyer,” and named by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of Georgia’s “Legal Elite.” He is the lawyer recipient of the Chief Justice Thomas O. Marshall Professionalism Award for 2008 which was awarded by the State Bar of Georgia, and the 2008 recipient of the Judge Frank Cheatham Professionalism Award given by the Savannah Bar Association to one of its members each year.
